Consignment introduction terms
Version 2026-09 (archived). These apply to introductions accepted under this version. Current version.
1. What we do
Sellers come to Estimonia wanting to sell an item and allow us to introduce it to auction houses. We send the item's photos and description to houses that fit it. When a house asks for an introduction, we put it in touch with the seller. We are not a party to any consignment or sale, and we do not inspect, authenticate or value items for houses.
2. The fee
The introduction costs nothing unless the item is consigned with you and sells. When you ask for an introduction you choose one of:
- 3% of the hammer price, or
- a flat fee: $150 for a hammer under $8,000, $400 for $8,000–15,000, and $800 above $15,000.
The fee applies to every consignment from the introduced seller that sells within 12 months of the introduction, and is based on the hammer price, excluding buyer's premium and taxes. It is never charged to the seller.
3. Reporting and payment
Please tell us when an introduced seller consigns with you, and the result when the lot sells or is withdrawn. We invoice after the sale has settled with the buyer, payable within 30 days by bank transfer. We may also ask the seller how the sale went.
4. The seller's details
Use the seller's details only to discuss this consignment. Do not pass them on, and do not add the seller to marketing lists without their separate consent.
5. Transparency
We tell sellers that Estimonia may receive an introduction fee from the house they consign with, and that it never changes what the seller pays.
6. Stopping introductions
Reply to any introduction email, or use the unsubscribe link in it, and we'll stop sending you items. Fees for introductions you already accepted remain due under these terms.
