Isbilya Subastas is a fine art and antiques auction house in Seville, run by Isbilya Subastas S.L. Its saleroom is at Calle Virgen de la Antigua 5, in the Los Remedios area, and it runs a separate direct-sale shop at Calle Francos 29 in the historic centre. The house is directed by José Muñoz and Joaquín J. Muñoz.

It is one of the few established salerooms in Andalusia with regular, fully catalogued sales. Its catalogues are published online and as downloadable PDFs.

History

Isbilya moved its headquarters to Calle Virgen de la Antigua in 2017. It has sold through international bidding platforms since at least 2015. The house's sales are numbered, and the auction of 7 October 2026 was catalogue number 52.

What Isbilya Subastas sells

Each sale is a single evening auction divided into departments. The October 2026 sale ran to more than 1,100 lots.

Selling at Isbilya Subastas

Valuations are free. Owners send good-quality photographs showing signatures, marks, measurements and any documents, such as certificates or restoration reports. The starting price, and any reserve, is agreed between the seller and the house, and the house insures consigned goods for the agreed starting price less commission.

Handling and catalogue charges run on a published scale from €10 for lower-value lots. Proceeds are paid from 30 days after the sale, less the agreed commission, any costs, artist's resale rights and taxes. The house may re-offer unsold lots at a 30% lower price. Withdrawing lots before the sale incurs a fee on the agreed starting price.

Buying and bidding

The sale catalogue's buyers' conditions set a buyer's commission of 18% plus VAT, which is 21.78% of the hammer price with VAT included. Bidders can bid in the room with a paddle, or leave written bids by post, email or the website before 2:00 pm on the day of the sale. Telephone bids are accepted for lots starting at €500 or more.

Live online bidding is available after registering through the link on the house's website. The house also streams its sales and accepts bids through Drouot Digital. Payment can be made by bank transfer, certified cheque or cash up to €2,500.

The house may ask bidders for a deposit of up to 5% of a lot's starting price, which is returned within three days to bidders who do not win. The Spanish State may exercise its right of pre-emption on works in the sale. Buyers are responsible for obtaining any export permit, and payment is still due within ten days of the sale even if a permit is delayed or refused. Transport of purchased lots is at the buyer's cost and risk.

Location and viewing

The saleroom is at Calle Virgen de la Antigua 5, 41011 Seville. Lots can be viewed in person before each sale, including on the Saturday before the auction. The direct-sale shop at Calle Francos 29 offers pieces outside the auction calendar.
