Segre runs numbered auctions, each held over several afternoon sessions. Auction 179, for example, took place on 15, 16 and 17 September 2026. Before each sale the saleroom is open for viewing Monday to Saturday.

In July 2024 a Patek Philippe reference 2497 perpetual calendar wristwatch in rose gold, estimated at €30,000, was hammered at €900,000. With the buyer's commission of 21.78% the total came to €1,096,020. ARS Magazine reported the result as a world record for the model.

Selling at Subastas Segre

Valuations are free for items that will go into one of the house's auctions. Owners can send details and photographs to the relevant specialist, visit the Madrid saleroom by appointment, or ask for a home visit anywhere in Spain. The starting price is then agreed between the seller and the house.

The house's selling page puts the commission at 11% plus VAT, plus catalogue inclusion costs of €3 to €21. Proceeds are paid 30 days after the sale, once the buyer has paid. Consigned items are covered by the house's insurance policy up to the agreed starting price. Unsold items can be stored free of charge and offered in later sales at a lower starting price. Lots not collected or repriced within three months may be re-offered at a starting price 40% lower.

Buying and bidding

Under the general conditions, the buyer pays a commission of 18% on the hammer price, with VAT charged only on the commission. Bids can be placed in person with a paddle, in writing, by telephone, or through the website as advance bids until 2:00 pm on the sale day. Live bidding is also available: registered users can watch the auctioneer and bid from their own device, provided they register before 3:00 pm on the day of the auction.

Payment can be made by transfer, card or cash within legal limits. Lots can be collected free of charge for 15 days after the sale, then at €6 per day. Packing, insurance and shipping are paid by the buyer.

Bids rise on a published scale, from €5 steps up to €100, through €100 steps between €1,000 and €2,000 and €1,000 steps between €10,000 and €20,000, to €5,000 steps above €50,000. Catalogue descriptions reflect the specialists' research, but buyers are expected to inspect lots at the viewing. Claims for damage or restoration visible at the viewing are not accepted.

The saleroom is at Calle Segre 18, 28002 Madrid, in the El Viso area. It is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:30, with longer hours of 10:00 to 20:00, Monday to Saturday, during viewing periods.
