Best Ceramics & Porcelain Auction Houses & Dealers in Canada

Find and compare specialists in ceramics & porcelain across Canada. Verify credentials, compare fees, and find the right partner for your item.

Ceramics and porcelain is a broad and active category in Canada, covering everything from Chinese export porcelain to European studio pottery. Meissen, Sèvres, and Wedgwood are perennial auction staples, while contemporary studio ceramics have found a growing and enthusiastic collector audience.

Canada's market is defined above all by Canadian art — the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, and a strong tradition of Inuit and First Nations work — alongside a healthy trade in decorative arts, collectibles, and Canadiana. Buyer's premiums range from around 17% at fine-art houses to 21-25% at collectibles specialists.

Notable specialists for Ceramics & Porcelain in Canada include Maynards Fine Art & Antiques, Miller & Miller Auctions Ltd. and Waddington's Auctioneers & Appraisers. Compare their specialties, fees, and locations below to find the right fit for your item.

Before You Contact a Ceramics & Porcelain Specialist

  • Confirm the specialist can fully attribute the piece — factory, period, and decorator marks all affect value.
  • Ask whether a condition report will be prepared, including UV light inspection for repairs.
  • Request comparable results for similar pieces: some houses consistently outperform for specific factories.
  • Ask about their Asian ceramics buyer network if relevant — Chinese buyers now dominate this segment globally.
  • Understand their return policy if attribution proves incorrect after sale.
