IEGOR is an auction house based in Montreal, Quebec. It holds catalogued live sales and online countdown sales, known in French as ventes décompte. History

IEGOR was founded in Montreal in 1983 by Iegor and Martine de Saint Hippolyte. According to the house, Iegor de Saint Hippolyte also organized sales in Paris and, at a prince's request, in Monaco. The company later expanded to Paris, Monaco, New York and Palm Beach.

In 2004 IEGOR became the official North American representative of DROUOT, the Paris auction venue. The same year it moved its offices into a neoclassical church in Montreal's cultural district. Heritage Montreal gave it the Orange Prize in 2006, and it received the City of Montreal Special Heritage Prize in 2007. It now lists its Montreal address as 1456 Sherbrooke Street West.

Selling at IEGOR

IEGOR offers free valuations from its appraisers and from outside specialists it describes as internationally recognized in their fields. Sellers can book an appointment by phone, with lines in Montreal and Palm Beach, or send an online estimate request form. The site does not publish seller commission rates, so terms are discussed with each consignor.

IEGOR runs both sale formats side by side. On the 2026 calendar, a catalogued sale was held on September 24, while the jewellery, spirits, and tableware and furniture sales were listed as countdown sales. Wine consignments follow separate rules for internet auctions of fine wines, which the house publishes because those sales are held under SAQ authority.

Buying and bidding

Catalogued sales take place in the saleroom and are preceded by exhibition days, when bidders can examine lots and ask about condition. To bid in the room, register on arrival with a signed form and a credit card number to receive a bidder number. Buyers who cannot attend have several options:
